Binibining Pilipinas Supranational 2018 Jehza Huelar finished as one of the top 10 finalists in the Miss Supranational 2018 pageant held in Krynica-Zdrój, Poland on Saturday morning (Philippine time).
The Davaoeña beauty queen’s journey ended short when she failed to secure a slot in the top 5. The representatives of Puerto Rico, USA, Poland, Indonesia, and Mexico made the cut.
Huelar also took to Instagram to share that she had an unfortunate wardrobe malfunction just after the top 10 candidates were announced.
She said that the zipper at the back of her dress broke and it had to be reattached with the help of safety pins. Nevertheless, Huelar stepped out on stage wearing her silver gown, designed by Kannah Besino-Simbulan, “as if nothing happened.”
In the end, Miss Puerto Rico Valeria Vasquez was crowned the winner, succeeding Jenny Kim from South Korea.
On the other hand, it turned out that Huelar was not the only Filipina in the said competition.
Filipino-American beauty queen and former Binibining Pilipinas Tourism Katrina Jayne Dimaranan represented the USA and was hailed as the pageant’s first runner-up.
Huelar entered the competition hoping to bag the country’s second Miss Supranational crown after Mutya Datul who won the title in 2013.
