This girl has got to be the most prepared Miss Universe Philippines to date!
Catriona Gray has once again caused online frenzy among pageant fans after she released a video titled “This is the Philippines” wherein she seemingly gave a hint on the national costume that she will be wearing during the highly anticipated Miss Universe 2018.
One of the main events of the Miss Universe pageant is the national costume competition wherein the candidates show off beautiful ensembles that best represent their countries.
For this year, 94 candidates will be joining Miss Universe and some of them have already given pageant fans a glimpse of what they have been preparing for. As expected, everyone is excited to see what Gray has in store for the national costume competition.
Gray has been teasing her fans about her costume but even though there are close-to-none revelations, everyone can expect that her costume will be massive based on one photo she previously posted on her Instagram Story.
As seen on the photo, the box which allegedly contains the national costume of Gray was already transported to Thailand where the pageant will take place.
The box is so big that it is almost twice the height of the two men standing in front of it.
On December 9, two days before the national costume competition, Gray posted a video to show her appreciation of the Filipino culture, its history, arts, and its people, particularly that of Luzon, one of the three island groups of the Philippines. The Filipino-Australian beauty queen also made mention of the Filipino’s festive spirit during the Christmas season.
“Seeing lights being put up along the streets and these colored laters called parol being put up at people’s houses makes Christmas in the Philippines magical,” she said.
Her video also earned praise and commendations from netizens who did not fail to notice her efforts and determination to win the crown.

Towards the end of the video, Gray striked a strong pose in front of a huge parol which caused many to speculate that she will wearing a huge lantern for her national costume.
Gray previously said in an interview that her national costume will be Christmas-inspired while representing the whole Philippines. She also said that no beauty queen that came before her wore something like it.
A comment by Jolo Luarca, the man who created the video, added fuel to the burning fire when he said that there are more surprises that fans should look forward to.
“Nagulat ba kayo? Simula pa lang ‘to,” Luarca said.
This led netizens to speculate that Gray will also be posting videos about Visayas and Mindanao.

The 67th Miss Universe pageant will be taking place in Bangkok, Thailand on December 17, 2018. Demi-Leigh Nel-Peters of South Africa will pass on the crown to her successor at the end of the event.
Gray is hoping to take home the Philippines’ fourth Miss Universe crown, following the footsteps of Gloria Diaz, Margie Moran, and Pia Wurtzbach.
