Kapamilya stars Liza Soberano and Enrique Gil paid tribute to veteran character actor Nonong De Jesus, more popularly known as “Bangkay,” after he passed away on November 6 at the age of 71.
De Jesus’ nephew Powie Capino announced the sad news yesterday through a Facebook post.
“Please pray for the eternal repose of the soul of my Tito Nonong who passed away early this morning,” Capino said.
Quezon Police Director Senior Supt. Osmundo de Guzman said that a caretaker of Tumagay Beach Resort found De Andres’ body inside one of the resort’s cottages.
After the news broke out, Soberano and Gil paid their last respect via social media to the departed actor. De Jesus worked with the perennial Kapamilya love team on the now-defunct drama series “Forevermore”.
Sharing photos which were taken during their filming days in Northern Luzon, Soberano and Gil dedicated heartfelt messages to De Jesus.
Other “Forevermore” cast members such as Lilet, Michael Flores, Yves Flores, and twins Joi and Jai Agpangan also remembered De Jesus.
Many other celebrities such as Gardo Versoza, Kakai Bautista, at Marco Gumabao, and directors Theodore Boborol and Joven Tan wished eternal rest upon De Jesus and extended their condolences to his family.
