Filipina finishes as runner-up in “Asia’s Next Top Model Cycle 6”

Filipina-British model Adela-Mae Marshall came close to winning Asia’s Next Top Model Cycle 6 during the show’s finale which was aired on October 24.

The Philippine representative finished as a runner-up after she lost to Thailand’s Dana Slosar.

Slosar became the third Thai model to win the well-known reality modeling competition, after Jessica Amornkuldilok from Cycle 1 and Tawan Kedkong from Cycle 3.

Aside from Marshall, Taiwan’s representative Mia Sabathy was also a runner-up.

The show’s host Cindy Bishop and creative director Yu Tsai, together with Storm Model Management’s Ruby Adler, Harper’s Bazaar Thailand’s Editor-in-Chief Duang Poshyanonda, and Miss Universe 2015 Pia Wurtzbach, were all part of the judging panel who picked the winner.

Because of her win, Slosar will be taking home a brand new Subaru XV, a cover feature on Harper’s Bazaar Thailand, a featured avatar in the new mobile game of “America’s Next Top Model”, and a modeling contract from Storm Model Management.

After the episode aired, Marshall took to Instagram to congratulate her fellow models and thank everyone who has helped and supported her throughout the competition.

“Sabi ko noon, ‘Laban Pilipinas,’ and kahit hindi ako manalo ngayon I will continue to try and represent the Philippines in the best way I can. Maraming maraming salamat sa suporta niyo. I’m sorry I couldn’t bring home the title for a back-to-back win but I hope I was able to show you na pusong Pinoy ako. I hope I was able to represent the Philippines well and I hope to be able to see you soon or maybe you’ll be seeing me,” she wrote.

And then there was 1. Congratulations @dsloz you absolutely went #BeyondLimits and I couldn’t be happier for you. @miasabathy what can I say we put up a good fight but we are just too good at being runners up ? I’m proud of us regardless. I remember when we first met and talked about how scary it was going into another version of ‘Next Top Model’ wondering if it was possible to do as well as we had previously done on a larger scale but I’m glad we made it to the Top 3 together. To @cindysirinya and @yutsai88 thank you for guiding and moulding us throughout the whole competition, thank you for seeing something in me I couldn’t even see myself and hopefully this won’t be the last of me you see! To @minhtu_nguyen you were the best mentor I could have asked for. You pushed me in ways I never could have imagined and reminded me why I answered you name during my audition when I was asked for one of my favourite contests from previous cycles. All the best in your future endeavours. To my family @ekb.marshall @daoooh and @sabrinabaranda and all those who couldn’t make it. Thank you for loving me, thank you for being there for me and thanks for supporting me. You have all helped shape me into the woman I am today and I couldn’t imagine where I’d be without you. Now that @asntm is I want to give a special thank you to all of our producers, crew, digital team, hair teams, makeup teams (@maccosmeticsthailand) and our incredible stylist @priscillaianson people tend to get carried away with the glamour of the competition but literally none of it would have possible without you guys. Finally, last but not least ang bayan ko. Sabi ko noon, ‘Laban Pilipinas,’ and kahit hindi ako manalo ngayon I will continue to try and represent the Philippines in the best way I can. Maraming maraming salamat para sa supportahan n’yo I’m sorry I couldn’t bring home the title for a back-to-back win but I hope I was able to show you na pusong Pinoy ako. I hope I was able to represent the Philippines well and I hope to be able to see you soon…or maybe you’ll be seeing me. Phew! Now after that I think I deserve a break from social media ?
