Kapuso actor Alden Richards has pledged to shoulder the school expenses of an 8-year-old disabled fan.
Richards said during an episode of GMA-7’s weekly lifestyle show “Kapuso Mo, Jessica Soho”, that he got impressed by the strong will and determination of Niño Dayon who was born without forearms.
Dayon said that amid his physical disability, he still helps around the house by doing chores and even doing some construction work. He even said that the hammer is his favorite tool to use.
The young boy would even make himself toys out of scraps because his parents cannot afford to buy him one. He dreams of meeting Richards, who he considers as his idol.
Dressed in his Victor Magtanggol costume, Richards meets Dayon which caused overwhelming joy to the young boy. He even gave him a customized chair for him to use.
But aside from the chair, Richards gave Dayon another gift that can possibility change his life forever. The Kapuso actor said that he would like to help Dayon reach his dreams of becoming an engineer by taking care of all of his school expenses until he finishes college.
“Sasagutin ko na po yung pag-aaral niya po hanggang college. Hindi na po kayo mamomroblema sa pag-aaral ni Niño, Ma’am. Ako na pong bahala,” Richards was quoted as saying.
