Miss International 2013 Bea Rose Santiago took to Instagram to share with her followers some updates about her health.
The 28-year-old beauty queen revealed on her Instagram Stories that she was diagnosed with a chronic kidney disease.
Santiago said that she went to St. Luke’s Medical Center in Bonifacio Global City last August 1 to treat her severe migraine.
But after several tests, she was informed that there is a more serious problem in her body.
“Yes, I’m sick. Since I damaged my kidneys when I was younger. My kidneys are more sensitive than a normal later 20s healthy woman. I can’t overdo things and I just found out. Came to the hospital with my severe migraines and we found out something potentially more dangerous. I’m thankful but at the same time really scared,” she wrote on her Instagram Stories.
She followed that with another post wherein she revealed that pre-workout drinks is one of the reasons why her kidneys are not in good condition.
She said: “Guys, if you take pre-workout and other heavy workout, please be careful! Apparently there are many more like me. We damage our kidneys because of our gym life. Before you do or change your diet or drink something make sure you don’t have bad health history problems! Always ask your doctors!”
Because of the results of the tests, Santiago said that she had to spend three more days in the hospital.
