Jinkee Pacquiao, wife of boxing champ and senator Manny Pacquiao, faced backlash after posting a series of photos of her “showing off” her branded clothing.
Some followers of Jinkee noticed her series of posts on her social media accounts of her wearing branded clothes, shoes, and bags, among others, which came across to some as showing off.
Some also questioned the sincerity of Jinkee’s captions where she thanked God for all the blessings she and her family receives despite the photo only showing her and her clothing.
In one of her posts dated May 5, Jinkee is seen sitting on a couch while wearing a pair of sunglasses and a pink-and-white striped dress with a caption that read, “Thankful each day!”
One of her followers with the handle @kareng3 took the opportunity to strike a jab at Jinkee’s post and said “When you post without branded clothes, shoes and bags, your witnessing for Jesus seems more sincere, because they don’t concentrate on expensive stuff but the free gift of salvation from Jesus Christ our Lord.”
Jinkee calmly replied to her follower’s comment.
“The heart of the matter is the matter of the heart. It’s between you and the lord. All we can do is to love God and others,” her comment read.
The user replied to Jinkee’s comment and said that Jinkee focuses more on material items than the message of God.
“You are right, it is always the position of our heart, but to witness to non believers, I noticed that they concentrate on the material things more than God’s message itself,” the user said.
While some agreed to the user’s sentiment, others were quick to defend Jinkee.
Another user with the handle @ijencabrera told Jinkee she gets to choose how she will live her life.
“@jinkeepacquiao please ignore comments like these. It’s so annoying. It’s getting out of hand. No one has the right to question your sincerity, your lifestyle, how you live your Christian life and how you will spend your money especially its if your hard earned money,” her comment read.
Jinkee no longer responded to the series of comments.
