There is no security threat to the Britney Spears concert at the Mall Of Asia (MOA) Arena on Thursday, but the National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) will be deploying 200 police officers to guard and monitor the event.
Aside from the police contingent, there will also police assistance desks at the venue’s entrances and exits, K-9 units and parking lot marshals, NCRPO chief Director Oscar Albayalde said on Wednesday.
The NCRPO chief said changes were made in the security protocols for the concert.
Previously, policemen were not allowed inside the concert venue, but now, the PNP will be stationing 20 to 30 armed and uniformed personnel as well as observers inside the main concert hall and lobby, according to Albayalde.
Meanwhile, the Pasay City government, which has jurisdiction over MOA, is just waiting for the organizers to coordinate with the Philippine National Police (PNP) regarding the security preparations inside and outside the venue before a permit is issued to them. (Priam F. Nepomuceno/PNA)
