Global Village recorded a five-percent increase to 5.6 million guests within the most recent season, which closed on April 8, 2017.
The establishment also closed the season with $626 million (Dh2.3 billion) worth of business transactions with more than 200 investors.
These factors have strengthened Global Village’s plans to expand and boost the multi-cultural festival park’s entertainment branding in other locations inside and outside the region.
“We see there’s huge growth and opportunities,” Global Village CEO Ahmad Hussain Bin Essa said. “The brand we are developing, we are positioning it as a two-to-three-hour midway attraction and destination.”
Aside from entertainment and shows, Global Village operates with three other components namely funfair, retail as well as food and beverage.
Bin Essa added investors from Saudi Arabia and India have shown interests in Global Village’s entertainment venue offerings.
“Saudi Arabia has a strong vision [for the future], focusing on a diversified economy. I think they’re very serious about the entertainment element,” he says. “We have been approached by different partners and investors from Saudi Arabia, who are seeing opportunity, but we are still at a very early stage of discussions with them.”
Global Village employs 10,000 workers, which includes 7,000 personnel from places outside the UAE.
