Typhoon Tisoy made landfall in Gubat, Sorsogon, at 11 pm last night wrecking havoc in what was has been one of the most catastrophic natural events recorded in Philippine history.
The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said Tisoy was already in the coastal waters of the municipality of Gubat, independent news portal Rappler reported.
The typhoon strengthened with maximum winds of 175 km/h from the previous 165 km/h and gustiness of up to 240 km/h from the previous 230 km/h, the reported stated.
According to PAGASA, Tisoy’s eyewall is currently bringing violent winds and intense to torrential rain over Northern Samar, Catanduanes, Albay, Camarines Sur, and Sorsogon, Rappler report stated.
