The UAE government has released the list of public holidays in the UAE for the year 2019, and overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) can start planning ahead to make the most of their vacation.
According to the announcement, Islamic occasions, such as the beginning and end of the Holy Month of Ramadan, depend on moon sightings. Thus, dates listed are only expected and tentative dates.
Earlier, President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, proclaimed November 30 as Martyr’s Day to be held to remember the heroic deeds of the nation’s martyrs.
Meanwhile, the UAE National Day is celebrated to commemorate the founding of the union of the United Arab Emirates.
Workers in the UAE are advised to always wait for official announcements from the government for work-free holidays in both the public and private sectors.
