Remittance center gives away gold in Sharjah

FIFTY early bird customers went home with a gram of 24-carat gold each during the recent grand opening of Wall Street Exchange Sharjah City Center branch.

Rio Carrascal, who for the past four years have been working as a secretary at a Sharjah manufacturing company, was one of the lucky winners. She said she intend to keep the gift as a souvenir from Wall Street Exchange.

“Masayang masaya ako dahil nanalo ako ng ganito for the first time in four years na nagtatrabaho ako dito. Iki-keep ko lang muna ito as souvenir,” Carrascal.

Wall Street Exchange Sharjah City Center is the fourth branch to open in Sharjah and the 35th  in the UAE, according to Sultan Al Mahmood, the company’s managing director, who led the ceremonial ribbon-cutting.

“We consider this as one of the most important branches, located inside Sharjah City Center, as it is in a very busy area. We wanted to be very close to our customers and we are available for them 365 days as this mall is operating 365 days and has long working hours,” said Al Mahmood.

Al Mahmood added that the branch is also important as it caters to overseas Filipinos workers (OFWs) around the area, and who comprise more than 20 percent of the company’s total footfall.

“The Filipinos in the UAE are very important customers to us. This location is very close to the Filipino community in the area, so I would expect that more than 25 percent of the business of this branch would come from them,” he said.

The 50 early birds also automatically qualified for the electronic raffle draw for an 8-gm, 24 carat gold, the winner of which will be announced.
