Consul General Paul Raymund P. Cortes has expressed support to the Kabayan Kamera Klub (KKK) of Dubai in its latest project called, “Truckers Summer Warehouse Fun Shoot” held recently at the Dubai World Trade Center. This is in line with KKK’s vision to further enhance the skills and technical expertise of Filipino photographers in Dubai and the Northern Emirates.
Cortes, in his address, stressed the importance of the art of photography as it allows the rest of the world to understand the manner in which Filipinos discern current global realities. He said that while people’s views and opinions of the world are subjective, the lens of the camera can provide an objective avenue for Filipinos to show other ethnicities what is important to the Filipino and how the Filipino sees the world he finds himself in.
He further urged the group to continue honing their skills as photography is a most effective way to celebrate our perceptions of the global community.
