The Philippine Ladies Circle – Abu Dhabi celebrated the annual Philippine Language Month (Buwan ng Wika) by presenting the Filipino language through poems and songs. Headed by Madame Yoko Ramos-Vingno, spouse of Philippine Ambassador Constancio Vingno, Jr., the group organized a two-week long celebration where younger generations presented poems (tula) and songs (kanta) in specially prepared programs.
The celebration was concluded by a presentation dubbed, “Evolution of Filipino Songs” on Aug. 26 at Mushrif Mall in Abu Dhabi. Songs from the 60’s up to the year 2000 were presented by Philippine Embassy officers and staff and some local Filipino performers from Dubai and Abu Dhabi. (GC)
