A group of distressed overseas Filipino workers (OFWs), who have been under the care of the Philippine Embassy, on their way to the airport for home. The OFW Global Movement for Empowerment, one of the FilCom groups in Abu Dhabi, helped with their repatriation through a donation of 42 pieces of luggage. The embassy repatriates up to 50 distressed OFWs a week; they entered the UAE using visit visas facilitated by human traffickers, according to Ambassador Constancio R. Vingno, Jr. who has also disclosed to The Filipino Times that UAE and Philippine governments are holdings talks to address the issue.
