Angeline Quinto files police report after receiving online death threats

Singer Angeline Quinto has filed a blotter report after receiving death threats from netizens on social media.

Bashers started to throw hate messages towards the 28-year-old singer who was accused of mocking fellow singer Sarah Geronimo when the latter had an unexpected breakdown during a concert in Las Vegas.

Quinto denied the said rumors and challenged netizens to show evidence that she had badmouthed Geronimo. However, that did not stop netizens from hurling insults and threats towards her and her family.

Due to the threats she has received online, Quinto has filed a report at PNP Anti Cybercrime Group at Camp Crame in Quezon City, according to ABS-CBN reporter Maan Macapagal.

Quinto also handed over to police a list of usernames of netizens who allegedly sent her online threats.

In a previous interview with ABS-CBN, Quinto burst into tears over malicious comments targeting her family.

She said she was on tour when she heard about the rumors circulating online. Afterwards, some Popsters, Geronimo’s fan-base, sent her hateful messages.

The rumors allegedly came from an assistant of “It’s Showtime” host Amy Perez. Perez, however, clarified she works on her own and does not have a personal assistant.

Quinto also said that Geronimo already reached out to her to apologize on behalf of her fans after the latter found out about the said accusations.
