RAS AL KHAIMAH: The UAE launched the world’s largest ever pyrotechnics on New Year’s Eve which has entered the Guinness World Records for the ‘largest aerial firework shell’.
The 2,400-pound (1,088kg) firework shell seemed like a huge spectacle of lights that hung in the air for a moment above Al Marjan Island.
After climbing and trailing sparks for 15 seconds, it brilliantly burst into a kaleidoscope of color, beating the previous Guinness titleholder-Japan-which set off 464-kilogram firework shell in 2014.
The UAE indeed takes its New Year’s Eve celebrations seriously, because aside from this giant firework, more than a million visitors attended Dubai’s massive “Light Up 2018” that shined on Burj Khalifa.
The light show clinched also the Guinness World Record. This time, for the “largest light and sound show on a single building.”
