HMD Global has launched Nokia’s new flagship product, which raised the bar for Android smartphone developers.
Starting September 21, expats and locals in the UAE can enjoy the world-firsts features of Nokia 8 as HMD Global pioneered what could be the most technologically-advanced Android smartphone in the region.
The Nokia 8 is built with three groundbreaking identities—it is the first new generation Nokia smartphone to feature ZEISS optics; it allows users to capture more sceneries by simultaneously using front and rear cameras; and the first handheld device to banner OZO spatial 360-degree audio.
Per Ekman, HMD Global’s Vice President for Middle East and North Africa, said Nokia 8 offers ease of access to visual-led social media platforms.
“We are delighted to introduce technologies that go hand in hand with MENA consumers’ insatiable appetite for content creation and sharing and to bring genuine value to this new digital era,” Ekman said in a press release.
This was echoed by Sanmeet Kochhar, General Manager, Middle East, at HMD Global, saying that the new device can allow people to better connect to the world through content sharing.
“We are seeing a new generation of creators who are forging their own paths in the world, on their own terms, and according to their unique outlooks. The Nokia 8 promises an innovative and unique experience to further inspire the MENA content creator,” Kochhar said.
Juho Sarvikas, Chief Product Officer of HMD Global, Nokia 8 is an offspring of premium design, outstanding experience and powerful performance.
“We know that fans are creating and sharing live content more than ever before, with millions of photos and videos shared every minute on social media. People are inspired by the content they consume and are looking for new ways to create their own,” said Sarvikas.
Groundbreaking features
Nokia 8 is the brand’s first smartphone to feature ZEISS optics that enables optimum all-round experience. ZEISS optics complements the unit’s supreme 13-megapixels primary and front cameras.
Meanwhile, its OZO Audio features allow users to experience an audio system used in Hollywood productions. OZO spatial 360-degree audio adds spice users’ video watching experience by enabling playbacks through audio capture capabilities.
Move over, selfie
The launch of Nokia 8 also gives birth to a new technology term—bothie. Through Nokia 8’s Dual-Sight features, users will not have to choose whether to capture their reactions or film the environment because they will be able to do both simultaneously. Dual-sight captures using both front and rear cameras in a split screen visual for both photos and videos.
“It is exciting to witness how digital technology is changing lives throughout the Middle East region. Our aim is to enable the sharing of their enriching experiences, and ultimately, to unite people and bring them closer,” Kochhar said.
Aesthetical and practical appeal
Nokia 8 also runs with a Qualcomm Quick Charge 3.0 feature that allows people to fill their batteries and not miss their experiences. It also runs cooler even in the most demanding situations.
At 160 grams, even consumers in active lifestyle can handily bring their units and use it with the Nokia Active Wireless Headset, a lightweight, water-, sweat-, and dust proof headset.
Nokia 8 can be purchased at Dh1,699, a reasonable price for a smartphone that fits all lifestyles. It is available polished blue, polished copper, tempered blue, and steel colors.
