One might think that a flourishing career is enough to forget about the importance of a college degree. After all, what can be more satisfying than living out your dream and having hordes of fans follow your every move? Marching on your graduation day, apparently.
Here are three Filipina actresses who have proven that no one is too cool for school.
1 Sunshine Cruz, 39
Sunshine Cruz, a mother of three beautiful daughters, started in show business at the young age of 19. She, therefore, had difficulties balancing school and career, opting the latter when the going got tough. But 39-year-old mom has proven that one can still finish school, no matter what age.
Cruz finally got her degree in psychology from Arellano University last April 1.
2 Venus Raj, 29
We guess being Binibining Pilipinas 2010 is not enough for someone who’s all parts beautiful and smart. Raj already has a Communication Arts diploma under her belt, which she received from Bicol University.
But that was not enough for the Miss Universe 2010 fourth runner up as she still pursued higher education. She graduated last June 25 and with a Cum Laude honor to boot.
3 Myrtle Sarrosa, 22
At age 22, Myrtle Sarrosa may not be too old to achieve her diploma. But her journey towards graduation certainly had not been an easy one, give how her career had been when she was just starting college. Despite the hurdles, the Pinoy Big Brother alumna has succeeded – and with flying colors!
The Broadcast Communication graduate of the University of the Philippines Diliman has cinched the Magna Cum Laude honor.
