The UAE’s National Emergency Crisis and Disaster Management Authority (NCEMA) has urged people to take PCR tests ahead of this weekend’s Eid Al Adha celebrations to support the country’s fight against COVID-19.
Members of the public should ensure they are tested no more than 72 hours before taking part in gatherings to protect the health of friends and family members, authorities said while allowing sacrificial meat, gifts, and food to be distributed among neighbors.

The public was asked to remain committed to safety measures and put meat in clean, sterilised bags or boxes before distribution. Among the set of rules are ban on unlicensed workers to slaughter animals while the duration for prayers at mosques will be set at 20 minutes.
Residents were advised to use apps of registered charities in the country to carry out the sacrifice while police patrols and volunteers will manage the entry and exit of people into mosques.

Slaughterhouses will be inspected and monitored to ensure there is no crowding while there should be no handshakes between worshippers.
Residents have also been encouraged to use apps or websites to transfer Eid money given to children.
