The Philippine government will begin administering the second COVID-19 booster shot for the immunocompromised, or people with comorbidities from Monday, April 25.
The rollout will start with the immunocompromised individuals aged 18 and above.

Health Undersecretary Myrna Cabotaje said in a television interview on Friday that the vaccination would start on Monday.
She added: “We’re going to do it nationwide. No more NCR (National Capital Region) Phase 1. We would like to roll it out nationwide, immediately on Monday, after we have discussed the guidelines with our implementers.”
Earlier, the Food and Drug Administration approved this month the second booster dose for health workers, the elderly and the immunocompromised.

However, Health Secretary Francisco Duque III said health workers and senior citizens would not yet be part of the rollout.
The immunocompromised individuals are getting priority because the Health Technology Assessment Council (HTAC) has in its assessment underscored the need for a second booster dose for them.
