In accordance with “Ras Al Khaimah Vision 2030”, an internal bus service has been launched by the Ras Al Khaimah Transport Authority (RAKTA).
To provide a safe and integrated transport network that contributes to achieving smooth mobility for all, a trial phase of the new bus service– consisting of four main routes covering different geographical and vital locations in the emirate — has already begun.
The new bus service starts from 6am until 9pm during weekdays, and until 10pm on weekends.
There are four colour-coded routes. Red route begins from Manar Mall to Al Jazeera Al Hamra area, while blue route starts from Manar Mall to Shaam area.
Similarly, green route starts from Manar Mall to Ras Al Khaimah Airport and purple route starts from Manar Mall to the American University.
“The launch of the internal bus project is a qualitative addition to the transport infrastructure projects in the emirate, which is implemented by RAKTA to encourage public transport, improve quality of life, facilitate access and integration between different means of transportation and linking regions with each other,” said RAKTA’s General Manager Esmaeel Hasan Al Blooshi.
Al Blooshi added that the service was operated by nine modern buses equipped with multiple technologies to ensure the quality of service in accordance with international best practices.
The buses are equipped with smart cameras that work with artificial intelligence and modern tracking systems linked to the smart control and monitoring centre, to ensure the highest levels of security and safety for users.
