India has reached another alarming mark on the country’s ongoing struggle against the coronavirus after its death toll exceeded 300,000.
The South Asian country is now third with the highest number of COVID-19 deaths in the world.
India has seen a decline in new cases in urban cities but the infections are spreading wildly in rural areas.

India has the third-highest reported in the world after the U.S. and Brazil, accounting for 8.6% of the nearly 34.7 million coronavirus fatalities globally.
4,454 new deaths were recorded on Monday according to the Indian health ministry.
The total number of fatalities is now at 303,720 according to the health ministry.

India also reported 222,315 new infections, which raised the overall total to nearly 27 million.
India has vaccinated 41.6 million of its population or about 3.8% of its population. (TDT)
