Residents in the UAE are reminded to avoid participating in gatherings, as authorities anticipate that the ongoing school holidays will witness an increase in social and tourism activities in the region.
The National Emergency Crisis and Disasters Management Authority (NCEMA) urges residents and citizens to keep in mind all of the country’s guidelines against the spread of the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) if they plan to engage in social activities.

“Although students need to be active and enjoy recreation time with family and friends, we call on everyone to adhere and to follow all of the preventive measures,” read the statement from NCEMA from their official post on Twitter.
Authorities also urged families to be extra careful when coming in contact with immuno-compromised persons and the elderly as they are part of the risk groups for COVID-19.
“We want to continue physical distancing, washing, and sanitizing hands, wearing masks and being careful when coming in contact with the elderly and people with chronic diseases. Cooperation is required and important, especially in places where gatherings may occur during the vacation period,” read the statement from NCEMA.
