Former President and House Speaker Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo joins the national government again, after Pres. Rodrigo Duterte appointed her as presidential adviser on Clark Programs and Projects.
According to her appointment paper released to the media, Arroyo will only receive a salary of one peso per year.
The government eyes to turn New Clark City as a backup government center in case disasters strike in Metro Manila.
After her 10-year stint as chief executive, Arroyo served as congresswoman of Pampanga’s second district.
Currently, Arroyo also serves as a consultant of the Pampanga provincial government.
