LOOK: Netizens applaud Syrian vlogger for cooking over 1,000 packed meals for Taal evacuees

The true spirit of the Filipino “bayanihan” lives on and that includes a Syrian vlogger known for his various act of kindness.
On Sunday, vlogger Basel Manadil posted photos of him holding cooked dishes for Taal Volcano evacuees.
Basel said that he will drive around Batangas to distribute meals containing more than a thousand chicken wings and a Syrian dish called ‘Chicken Kabsa’.
“Will drive around Batangas and near Taal again today. My first time ever to cook 1,103 pcs of Chicken Wings in ONE GO! (I really counted so I’m aware of the packed meals I’ll be distributing today. ?) and made Chicken Kabsa, a famous Syrian dish (very similar to Chiken Biryani, if familiar),” Basel wrote.
He added that he gave his best to finish all five kawas or large pans.
“I used local Filipino rice instead of Basmati rice. I cooked 5 rounds of rice using big commercial rice cooker. I never cooked before I left Syria, so my mom would be so proud once she sees this,” he added.
Basel said that it took him seven hours to cook the food and another four hours to pack the meals.
This is not the first time Basel extended help to Taal volcano evacuees. Last week, he also distributed N95 masks for the residents near Taal volcano for free.
In his vlog he said: “Volcano ka lang, Filipino kame.”
