Saudi woman, daughter drown in Indonesia

A 45-year-old Saudi woman and her daughter on a holiday in Indonesia died after drowning as they swam in strong seas.

The daughter, 26, swam towards her drowning mother and tried to save her but she was caught in strong currents as well.

Saudi newspapers said the two were rushed to a hospital in Lombok Island east of Bali Island but were already dead.

“The girl died trying to rescue her mother, who was pushed away by strong currents,” the Saudi daily Sada said.
