It seems Filipinos have become fonder of Koreanovelas and K-pop groups that more are coming to Korea as tourists.
The Korean Embassy in Manila announced on its website due to the sheer number of visa applicants, the period of wait for Korean visa application will be from 7 working days.
This will start today, April 1.
Temporary visitor’s visa (C-3) application used to take only three days for frequent travellers and five days for first-time travellers.
Other than temporary visitor’s visa, application period will still take five working days, the embassy added.
There will be no changes in the processing period of visa issuance number holders, i.e. 2 working days; and for seafarers are who scheduled to embark in Korea, i.e. 2 working days, and spouse visa, i.e. 15 working days.
“For those who need rush processing of visa due to personal reasons, they may avail the existing express visa processing system, i.e. 2 days processing, express fee $20,” the Embassy added.
Last year, the Embassy started outsourcing their visa application through designated 35 travel agencies due to the increase in the number of visa applicants.
According to the Korean embassy, there were around 160,000 visa applicants in 2017, up from 120,000 in 2016 and 90,000 in 2015.
