Fashion site calls out Vice Ganda for allegedly wearing couture imitations

The Instagram page of fashion site Diet Prada called out comedian Vice Ganda for wearing an outfit he allegedly copied from high-fashion brands.

During the opening performance for the grand finals of “Miss Q & A” last Saturday, February 23, at the Araneta Coliseum, Vice Ganda literally made a fashion statement by wearing a big yellow dress with the words “You don’t gain anything from hating us” written on it.

However, Diet Prada uploaded a photo on their Instagram Story accusing Vice Ganda of wearing a high-fashion knockoff from Viktor and Rolf’s Spring 2019 couture collection.

Diet Prada compared Vice Ganda’s dress to one of the pieces from the said collection which is a purple tulle dress with the words “Sorry I’m late. I didn’t want to come”.

Viktor and Rolf is a high-fashion brand founded in 1993 by Dutch designers Viktor Horsting and Rolf Snoeren.

“Filipino actor/singer/comedian Vice Ganda turning it out in some imitation Viktor and Rolf couture. Like the sentiment, but what’s with the electrical tape execution?” the fashion site wrote.

However, it wasn’t just Vice Ganda’s dress that Diet Prada pointed out.

The fashion site also said that the Kapamilya comedian copied the House of Malakai headpiece that American pop superstar Beyoncé wore for her 2017 Grammy Awards performance.

“But wait! There’s more. Who could forget Beyonce’s iconic headdress by House of Malakai during her (pregnant) 2017 Grammy performance?” Diet Prada said.
