His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, and His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, will host today until tomorrow a government brainstorming retreat to draft a strategic framework for the country’s development vision for the next 50 years.
Upon the directives of President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the brainstorming session will focus on setting out priorities to achieve greater heights in terms of development within the next half-century.
Two core committees were formed to be in charge of the drafting of development action plans.
The first committee—with HH Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Presidential Affairs, and HE Mohammad bin Abdullah Al Gergawi, Minister of Cabinet Affairs, as Chairman and Vice Chairperson, respectively—will be tasked to draft a comprehensive national development vision, a concrete plan for government modernization, and a strategic model to make the UAE the most agile country in the world in terms of adapting to future developments.
The second committee—with HH Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, and HH Sheikha Mariam bint Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan as Chairman and Vice Chairperson, respectively—will oversee the UAE Golden Jubilee celebrations.
