DILG eyes removal of PCR test requirement for local tourists

The Interior Department raises the possibility of easing requirements for local travelers, as the country bids to reopen the economy further.

DILG Undersecretary Epimaco Densing said it may include the removal of PCR swab testing, issuance of travel authority, and city health certificate, reported ABS-CBN.

“Tinitingnan rin namin ang posibilidad na wala na tayong testing,” said Densing.

However, swab test for those showing COVID-19 symptoms is non-negotiable, as well s those who came in contact with COVID-19 patients.

Cebu has already implemented the removal of COVID-19 testing in the province to boost their local economy.
