Emirates assures passengers in the UAE and across the world affected by the suspension of air travel due to measures against the spread of coronavirus disease (COVID-19) within their respective locations that they can either rebook or get a travel voucher to ease their worries of having to call to get their travel dates sorted out.
In a statement on their official website, Emirates stated that the following customers whose tickets were issued on or before March 31 are eligible for rebooking and travel voucher options:
- Travel ban: Where there is government notification that prohibits travel
- Travel advisory: General government advisory against non-essential travel
- Quarantine requirements: Mandatory quarantine at origin or destination
- Mandatory lockdown: Countries in which government have issued a mandatory lockdown and customers are therefore unable to reach airport
- Flight cancellation: Flights cancelled by Emirates
Passengers who fall in one of the previously mentioned categories can opt for one of the following options:
- Travel voucher for ticket value with a validity of 12 months from date of issue.
- Customers with flight bookings for travel on or before 30 June 2020 can rebook their flights to any Emirates destination within the same region without a rebooking fee or paying any fare difference. Emirates regions are: Africa; Australasia; Europe; Far East; Gulf, Middle East and Iran; Indian Ocean Islands; North America; South America; West Asia
The airline likewise stated that those who booked directly with Emirates can check out the Travel Voucher webpage at: https://www.emirates.com/english/help/refund-request/
Passengers need to add “Refund request due to Coronavirus” at the comments section.
Meanwhile, the airline stated that those who booked through travel agencies need to contact their respective agents to assist them in rebooking or getting their travel vouchers.
