Residents in Abu Dhabi, especially those who will be travelling near the roads leading to the Abu Dhabi Airport, have been notified by the authorities of lane closures as maintenance works continue in the run up for the opening of the Midfield Terminal later this year.
In the announcement posted by Abu Dhabi’s Integrated Transport Centre, the left lane on Sheikh Zayed Road approaching the city was closed Friday, June 21 12:00 am and will stay closed until 6:00 am on July 19.
The authorities urge motorists to be more cautious when driving near the area.
Abu Dhabi’s Midfield Terminal is expected to open later this year, covering an area of 742,000 square metres and a total of 65 aircraft gates.
Continuous road diversions, alterations, and maintenance have been ongoing since construction began in 2013.
