The Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA) have granted a total P3,320,000 (Dh242,476) to 26 dependents and beneficiaries of deceased Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs).
Two OFW dependents received P220,000 (Dh16,066) death and burial benefits each while the 24 accepted P120,000 (Dh8,763) each, Abante reported on Tuesday.
Under OWWA policy, dependents and beneficiaries of OWWA members who died naturally and by accident are entitled to P100,000 and P200,000 cash benefits, respectively.
A deceased OFW’s dependents are also eligible to receive education and livelihood assistance from OWWA’s Education and Livelihood Assistance Program.
