First day of Eid Al Adha falls on September 12

Riyadh: The first day of Eid Al Adha will fall on September 12, Saudi Arabia has announced on Thursday night, reported Saudi media.

Arafat Day, the climax of the annual Haj pilgrimage, will fall on Sunday, September 11.

The Saudi Supreme Court, according to Arab News,had announced on Friday that the current month will be thirty days long.

Eid Al-Adha or the Feast of Sacrifice will be celebrated on Monday, Sept. 12, said the website, adding that Saturday, Sept. 3 will be the first day of Dul Hijjah.

Earlier, the International Astronomical Center (IAC) had announced that September 12, Monday, 12 is the first day of Eid Al Adha in Indonesia, Malaysia, Brunei, Turkey and Japan, according to the news agency Barq.
The IAC, a scientific center based in Abu Dhabi, has members in different countries in the world, reported Gulf News.
