Abu Dhabi’s community police headed to the streets to provide protective equipment to dozens of civilians seen not wearing their protective equipment.
These pedestrians were on the streets as they were jogging, strolling and doing exercise when the community police approached them to hand out the masks and gloves.
The initiative forms part of Abu Dhabi Police’s ‘We Are All Police’ initiative that urges full cooperation of private citizens to follow the country’s laws and adhere to precautionary measures to prevent the spread of the coronavirus disease (COVID-19).
Prior to this drive, the Abu Dhabi Police and other authorities also handed out protective equipment as well as other informational materials to workers and residents located at the Mussafah, Al Mafraq, Al Shawamekh and Al Ain City.
The UAE has mandated all residents to wear masks at all times and will fine those who are caught not wearing protective equipment with Dh1,000.
