Norway will fine individuals who will be caught violating the 14-day home quarantine or isolation rules, Forbes reported.
Under the emergency measures in Control of Infectious Diseases Act, anyone who is found to have violated the quarantine will be fined with $2,000 or spend 15 days in jail.

A $1,500 fine or 10-day jail sentence awaits for anyone who will be caught staying in a country cabin outside of their home and anyone organizing a cultural or sports event will likewise face a hefty fine.
According to Norway’s Director of Public Prosecutions, the COVID-19 pandemic requires criminal justice measures be implemented to help reduce the number of infected.

Norway has banned all foreign citizens in entering the country and anyone who recently returned in the country will be home quarantined for 14-days.
There are 1,360 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Norway as of March 17.
