BREAKING: UAE temporarily bans citizens from traveling abroad

In its bid to stop the spread of the coronavirus disease or COVID-19, the UAE government has announced that it will temporarily ban all its citizens from traveling abroad.

This will take effect starting March 18 until further notice, according to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation.

The ministry said that the decision was made “in the interest of the state for the health and safety of its citizens, in light of the rapid spread of the virus around the world.”

Some countries have already imposed travel restrictions to curb the spread of the virus, and a number of flights have been canceled due to the threat of the disease.

There are now 113 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in UAE, with 26 recoveries. The ministry also adds that it will no longer issue visa-on-arrival for travelers starting March 19.
