The coronavirus disease (COVID-19) pandemic has reached Somalia and Tanzania.
Tanzania confirmed Monday its first case of COVID-19, Reuters reported.

Health Ministry identifies the patient as a 46-year-old Tanzanian woman who returned in the country from Belgium.
Health Minister Ummy Mwalimu said the woman is now in isolation and she is now recovering.
In Somalia, a person who had been placed in quarantine tested positive for the virus.

Health Minister Fawziya Abikar Nur tweeted regarding the one Somali who arrived from China contracted the disease.
COVID-19 has infected more than 174,000 individuals and killed 6,705 people globally.
