Malacañang told members of the House of Representatives to do their job amid the ABS-CBN franchise renewal bid issue.
“As far as he is concerned, that issue is in the hands of Congress and he has nothing to do with it. Do their work,” Presidential Spokesperson Salvador Panelo told reporters in Malacañang.

Panelo added that Duterte has a message to lawmakers: “You know your duties, you do not have to be prodded on to do your duties,” he said.
The President repeatedly said that he will oppose the franchise renewal of the Kapamilya network.

Solicitor General Jose Calida has asked the Supreme Court to nullify the network’s franchise due to violations of the constitution.
House Speaker Alan Peter Cayetano said that the lower house will tackle the franchise sometime in May or August.
