DFA to repatriate Filipinos from coronavirus-hit Wuhan

The Department of Foreign Affairs on Tuesday night announced that it is ready to evacuate Filipinos in Wuhan City and the rest of Hubei Province as the number of coronavirus infections there continues to rise.
In an advisory, the DFA said those who wish to come home will be subject to China’s rules on disease containment, including immigration clearance and quarantine process.
There are around 150 Filipinos in Wuhan City.

“The DFA is making available special flights from Hubei Province to the Philippines. Hence, Filipinos in the area who wish to be repatriated should contact the Philippine Consulate General in Shanghai,” the DFA said.
Upon arrival in the Philippines, returning Filipinos will be subject to 14 days of mandatory quarantine per guidelines of the Department of Health.
Those who wish to stay in China should heed advisories from local health authorities, and cooperate with efforts to prevent the spread of the virus, which was first detected in December.
Authorities advised Filipinos in the affected areas who need medical assistance and treatment to go to the nearest medical facility and seek proper medical care, including treatment and quarantine.
Manila has already advised Filipinos to postpone non-essential travel to China.
