PAGCOR orders 10-day quarantine on POGO workers

The Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corporation (PAGCOR) imposed a 10-day quarantine on newly hired and returning workers of Philippine Offshore Gaming Operators (POGOs) from novel coronavirus affected countries.
The gaming regulator released the statement reminding the POGOs to exercise “extreme caution” following the spread of novel coronavirus (2019-nCoV) which originated in Wuhan City, China.
Pagcor stressed that POGOs should strictly screen their workers to prevent the entry of deadly virus in the Philippines.
The agency added that it supports the effort of the Department of Health (DOH) is strictly monitoring the entry of Chinese citizens being employed by several gaming firms in the country.
However, Pagcor said the POGO entities have already voluntary avoided the entry of such workers in the country.
The novel coronavirus has killed 82 people and infected 2700 people in mainland China.
