Foreign Affairs Secretary Teodoro Locsin Jr. stated that he rejected offers of blood money from the employer of Jeanelyn Villavende, the domestic worker who was allegedly beaten to death in Kuwait.
“I renounce and reject any offer of blood money for her (Villavende) torture/murder. I want two lives for the life they took,” Locsin said in his official Twitter account.
THERE WILL BE BLOOD @DFAPHL for Jeanelyn Villavende. I renounce & reject any offer of blood money for her torture/murder. I want two lives for the life they took. The top-notch lawyer hired by DFA to prosecute is not authorized to suggest or accept blood money from her killers.

Locsin stressed that the top-notch lawyer hired by the DFA to prosecute is not authorized to suggest or accept blood money from her killers.
Locsin also sent a warning to DFA officials who would entertain the blood money being offered by Villavende’s killers, Philippine Star reported.
“If I catch anyone in @DFA making that suggestion, they’re fired. I will not accept an improvement in Kuwait’s labor standards either. All I care is blood for blood. Meanwhile, I will post her autopsy photos in the halls of DFA,” he warned.

Villavende’s death prompted the government to enforce a deployment ban on Kuwait.
Earlier, Kuwait Deputy Foreign Minister Khaled Al-Jarallah said Gulf state was willing to allow investigators from the Philippines to join the probe in Kuwait on Villavende’s murder.
