There will be an extension of the one-year traffic fine discount scheme in Dubai should the final results will be positive, according to the Dubai Police.
Major General Abdullah Khalifa Al Marri, the Commander-in-Chief of the Dubai Police, was quoted in saying this during an open meeting organized by the force, says a report by Khaleej Times.

Maj. Gen. Al Marri said the Ministry of Interior may implement the initiative in other emirates as well.
Last year, the Dubai Police launched the existing scheme where motorists who do not commit any violations for three months could get a 25 percent discount on their fines.

Bigger discounts are given for those who have no violations for six months (50 percent); nine months (75 percent); and one year (100 percent).
