A court in Abu Dhabi heavily fined an Emirati driver and ordered his driving license suspended for three months for surpassing the speed limit by 80 kph and endangering the life of a policeman.
The traffic cop chased the motorist and stopped him after noticing he was driving recklessly on the road in Al Ain.

Court was told that the driver refused to heed police orders to stop and continued to drive recklessly at night with the car lights switched off and with no plates.
A court of first instance fined him Dh22,000 for six charges, suspended his driving licence for three months and ordered him to do social work for one month.
A court of appeals slightly reduced the fine and kept the other sentences.
