The Civil Aeronautics Board has ordered the suspension of all flights from Wuhan City in China to the Philippines, amid the threat of a new coronavirus.
Wuhan is the supposed source of the new virus, which killed 17 people and infected more than 600 people.

The board says it has asked airlines to begin using standard and recommended practices on dealing with outbreaks in light of the Wuhan coronavirus.
“When you look at the seriousness of the outbreak, Wuhan should be the focus of attention,” CAB said in a statement.
Other flights from China are being strictly monitored. CAB said they are closely coordinating with authorities there.

Wuhan city is now under transportation lockdown to prevent the virus spread.
CAB said that they will have to decide if they lift the suspension of flights should China decide to lift the lockdown.
There are two direct flights from Wuhan to the Philippines to Kalibo International Airport.
