Dubai police arrested 7 African women on charges of setting up a fake massage service as a trap to extort money from customers.
Police raided their apartment after two men reported that the 7 women locked them in a room and forced them to pay for their freedom.
The two told police that they went to the flat after reading the ads on social media networks and that they were shocked when the women suddenly pushed them into a room and locked them up.
After paying the women around Dh3,700, the two men managed to escape and went straight to the police.
“Police stormed the apartment and arrested all the women, who will stand trial on charges of extorting money by force,” Al Bayan daily said.
