A group of thieves stealing boxes of commodities for a company in Jebel Ali was caught redhanded by a unit of Dubai Police patrolling the area.
According to Brigadier Dir. Adel Al Suwaidi, director of the Jebel Ali Police Station, two officers were on doing a routine check in the vicinity when they noticed a suspicious pick-up truck loaded boxes.
“The officers stopped the truck and questioned the driver and the passenger who claimed they were transporting goods of a company to another,” local media quoted Al Suwaidi as saying.
“Aside from the fact that they could not provide any information regarding the alleged company, they also did not have neither billing invoices nor confirmation documents for the goods,” he added.
The police immediately arrested those who were involved in the alleged robbery including the guard who allegedly helped the robbers get in.
The suspects confessed to their crime following a thorough interrogation and are now detained facing criminal charges.
