Abu Dhabi authorities have decided to permanently shut down a date factory in the oasis city of Al Ain for committing massive public health violations.
The Abu Dhabi Agriculture and Food Safety Authority said it has decided to close the Tayyebat Emirates Date Factory after it found out that the firm has failed to comply with public safety and health regulations.
It said the decision followed several visits by health inspectors who discovered massive violations and cautioned the company to abide by rules.
“The factory was issued several notices, including three fines in January and December last year,” it said in a statement.
