Families of OFW killed in Singapore car crash appeal for justice

The families left by overseas Filipino workers (OFW) killed in a tragic car crash in Singapore last weekend appeal for government’s help to bring them justice.
41-year-old Abigail Leste, an OFW in Singapore, died on the spot after a car hit her in Lucky Plaza Mall.
Lilia Somera, Abigail’s mother, said the government should file charges against the driver.
“Kailangang pagbayaran niya ang nangyari sa kaniya kasi ang alam namin over speeding… so sana mabigyan sila ng katarungan,” she told ABS-CBN News.
“Sa nangyari, wala na kami ganang maghanda-handa pa. Sino pa may ganang maghanda e nagluluksa kami?”  Someta added.
Abigail has been working as an OFW in the last 15 years.
Another Filipina died while four more were injured because of the crash.
OFW siblings in La Union were also among the victims of the tragic car crash. Arlyn Nucos, 50, died in the car crash while Arceli Nucos, 56, remains in critical condition.
“Masakit talaga. Lalong lalo nung nakita ko na ganun ang nangyari sa kapatid ko. Talagang humahagulgol ako sa iyak,” Reynalod Nucos was quoted as saying in the report.
“Tuwing nagbabasa ako ng mga message nila talagang deep in my heart talagang masama din ang loob ko,” he added.
The families of the OFWs who were killed in the crash were asking the government’s help to repatriate the victims.
